Alison has been a holistic therapist for over 20 years and practicing therapies for animals for over 10 of those. Her mission in life is to spread the word about holistic lifestyle choices and therapies, to people who care for animals. Looking at ourselves, our families, human and non human and the way we live from a \'holistic\' point of view, can be literally, life changing.
She qualified in Aromatherapy in 1984. Her experiences working with, and using essential oils in every day life, led her to explore other subtle healing systems and energy work including Reiki.
Her \'official\' journey in animal healing began in 2002 training with The Guild of Essential Oil Therapists for Animals (GEOTA). She keeps up to date with current research and healing methods in the field of animal therapy.
The most important, and amazing, teachers have been the animals she has met and shared her life with.
Her Reiki practice began with Alan Sweeney in London and after several years, received her level III attunement from Oonagh MacFarlane, Tir na Nog.
A chance conversation with a colleague in the field of animal healing, regarding a particularly sad case she was dealing with at the time, led her to experiment with some techniques taught by Kathleen Prasad - the results were instant ! Alison was inspired to train with Kathleen and has completed Shinpiden and Animal Reiki Teacher training and is now able (and delighted) to pass on those techniques to fellow students of Reiki.
Alison teaches animal owners and those who care for animals professionally how to incorporate Reiki and facilitate Zoopharmacognosy in their daily routine or when needed for special care.
Whenever possible she combines her love of travel with animal healing by volunteering at animal welfare centres abroad, in particular AWOL Animal Welfare of Luxor, Egypt and TOLFA The Tree of Life for Animals, Rajasthan, India.
