Reiki is a Japanese technique that promotes healing together with stress relief and relaxation. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and it is what causes us to be alive, it is given by "laying on hands". If we feel sick or feel stress, it is more than likely one's "life force energy" is low, if we are well and felling happy and more able to cope with life, our “life force energy is high.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

Reiki is a truly holistic therapy, working on the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit. It promotes many beneficial effects that could include relaxation and feelings of peace, inner strength, security and wellbeing.
