WHAT IS REIKI

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word made up of two syllables: Rei & Ki. Rei meaning spiritual wisdom, mysterious power and essence. Ki meaning vital life force and light. Reiki means 'Universal life energy'.

Reiki is a Japanese technique used to help reduce stress, aide relaxation and promote healing. It is given by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If a person’s "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, If it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reiki helps to kick start the body’s natural healing processes. It is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that can be used by anyone.

HOW DOES REIKI WORK

Reiki balances energies and removes blockages in the natural flow of the Ki. The Reiki practitioner who has been attuned to channel the Universal life energy lays their hands on or near the 7 major energy Chakras of the body.

This powerful and positive life energy enters the body near a Chakra and instinctively goes where there is a need for revitalisation. Once the blockages are cleared, the natural flow of Ki is again open and so the healing of mind, body and spirit begins.
