About Reiki with Jo

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a holistic, Japanese complementary therapy that promotes health and well being and can reduce stress and aid relaxation.

Reiki works on the principal that the therapist can channel energy to activate the healing of the clients mind, body and soul. This can aid the body’s natural ability to heal physical ailments and may open the mind and spirit to what may be causing both physical and emotional pain. Reiki is known for promoting health and well being, can reduce stress and usually improves relaxation.

Reiki is a complementary medicine that can be very beneficial alongside orthodox medicines. During treatment, you will be fully clothed and covered with a blanket if necessary. You will be asked to lay down on a therapy table (or sit in a chair if this is not possible), your therapist uses a light, gentle touch over the various energy centres of your body, whilst you relax and enjoy some soothing sounds.

Some people may experience a warm or cool sensation, possibly slight tingling particularly in the hands, or even see vivid colours in their minds eye even though your eyes remain closed throughout. Some people have none of these sensations, but almost all find it to be an incredibly calming experience, with many falling asleep during the session.

Reiki therapy is effective in the treatment of adults, children and even animals. Feel free to contact me for further information and prices.
