Description:

Reiki is a natural hands on therapy using universal energy that originated in Japan. This therapy works on the same Chakra centres as other oriental energy practices but in its own unique way. It is more than a physical therapy, it is a holistic system of balancing and harmonizing aspects of the person - mind, body and emotion.

The aim is to treat holistically and restore homeostatis. During a treatment Reiki is channeled through the practitioners hands into the client. Each person experiences a Reiki treatment differently, depending on his or her individual needs at the time. Often people feel a deep sense of relaxation and peace during a treatment. Some may become aware of heat, tingling or other sensations, whilst other may have a physical and emotional reaction. This is an indicating the body's healing processes are working and balance is being restored to the system..

Gakkai sessions consist of slow elongated stokes over the body, gentle rocking, pressure or stretching. This is deep tissue work. it is similar to acupressure massage with Reiki energy included.
