Who is Gaia?
Many people have asked “Who is Gaia?” In brief, Gaia, pronounced ‘Guy-a’, is the Greek Mythological term for Mother Earth. The ‘Theory of Gaia’ was developed in the 1970s by scientist James Lovelock and it suggests that Gaia, the Earth, is a vast self-regulating organism that has the ability to heal itself, if given the right circumstances and conditions.
The human body is also known to have the ability to heal itself if given the right circumstances and conditions. For example, if you cut your hand it will heal itself so long as you don’t pick at the scab or allow it to become dirty. However if we keep injuring ourselves in the same place it is less likely to heal.
