This course may be of interest to you if you enjoy giving Reiki treatments and would you like Reiki to deepen your practice. Whether you treat family and friends, already treat a wider circle or even just treat yourself but aspire to treating others: this course is for you if you would like Reiki to play a greater part in your life.
You may wish to earn a part of your living from giving Reiki treatments, or to offer treatments on a voluntary basis in a hospice or other formal setting. In either case if you get satisfaction from seeing the benefit Reiki can bring to people and would like to do more then I encourage you to explore this step.
The course takes place over a 3 weekends in September, December and March. There will also be assignments between the sessions. See the website for more details.
1st and 2nd degree Reiki courses give you the basic tools but they are not designed to prepare you for working publicly with Reiki. Over recent years the UK Reiki community has set standards for those wishing to offer Reiki as a professional treatment and this course is based on those standards.
The course consists of 12 modules that will help you develop your Reiki practice after 1st and 2nd degree Reiki, following the Reiki Council Core Curriculum. This curriculum is based on the Reiki National Occupational Standards and is the standard set by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare (CNHC) for their Reiki Register. The course will therefore prepare you to apply for verification so that you can be included on the CNHC Reiki register.
The aim of this course is therefore to prepare you to be a confident and competent Public Reiki practitioner.
In addition to attending each session, you will be encouraged to deepen your practice further between sessions with various assignments. You do not need to have done 2nd degree to begin the course, but 2nd degree is mandatory for becoming a verified practitioner.
As one of the participants commented this course also offers a way to deepen your personal Reiki practice:
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\”Halfway through the course, I realised that actually what I was getting was a deeper understanding about my personal relationship to reiki. My aim was to do the course and to make money form reiki once the course was over. I wanted to know how to be a better marketer, how to ask for money and all of the other practical things I was struggling with. However, by connecting with reiki now on a daily basis, I see that doing the course has supported all of the other areas of my life that I was also trying to nourish and grow.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\” Tina, Birmingham
This course is for students of Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki, to avoid any confusion if you have learned a different Reiki style. You therefore need to have learned or reviewed Reiki with me, another Reiki Alliance master or a master who follows this form of teaching, which includes the Nine Elements and Four Aspects. If you are interested in doing the course and are unsure about whether you practice this form of Usui Shiki Ryoho please contact me so that we can discuss whether the course is suitable for you.
A previous course participant said: \\\”An excellent course which would be beneficial for anyone considering giving reiki to the general public or who just wants to give a more professional treatment to family and friends. The course covers the essential aspects of becoming a professional reiki practitioner and highlights some of the pitfalls to avoid. As well as benefitting from Kate\\\’s extensive experience and knowledge, course members are able to discuss and learn from each others experiences and problems. The course also provides an opportunity to revise and refresh some of the basic elements of giving a reiki treatment.\\\” Liz, Birmingham
